HANDGUN SURVIVAL (July 17, New York City)
|
|
| You do NOT need to complete any Level 1 courses to sign up for this Level 2 course. One Mind, Any Weapon. Since air guns are a vital part of the Reality-Based Personal Protection system in simulating gun violence, such as robberies and small arms terrorist attacks, through the practice of Conflict Rehearsal, it is vital for the Reality-Based instructors to know gun safety and range procedures inside and out in order to avoid injuries and to make training more realistic. In this course you will be using an air gun that fires (through a mechanical process) a 6mm plastic projectile accurately up to 21 feet / 7 meters. The secondary benefit to taking this course is that you will know how to effectively use a gun should you ever be in a position where you have to disarm a criminal or a terrorist and have to use that weapon to save lives. In this course the classroom will be treated like an actual range, and therefore, you will learn standard police and military range safety rules and procedures as well as proper gun safety: handling and usage. You'll also be taught the standard shooting positions: standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone as well as tactical movement. After successful completion of this course, along with the other four Level 1 courses, you will be qualified to teach the Level 1 Reality-Based Personal Protection courses. Upon competion of Level 1 you will receive an instructor certificate, all teaching materials, your own custom Reality-Based Personal Protection logo, and you will be listed on the official Jim Wagner Reality-Based Personal Protection website as a Level 1 instructor regardless if you teach this system or not. This course will be held at the FIGHTHOUSE in the center of Manhattan at 122 West 27th Street, second floor, New York City only a couple of blocks from Penn Station www.fighthouse.com For lodging information visit www.expedia.com Course Time: Sign up is at 7:50 am, class starts at 8:00 am, lunch break at 11:30 am and the end of the course is at 3:00 pm (there will also be small breaks in between).Required Equipment: Wear a T-shirt, blue jeans (no shorts), and tennis shoes that are subject to possible damage.
